| The
Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association is creating and gifting a
garden to the city of Shenzhen, China. The Solar System will form
the basis for the overall layout of the garden. The design for the
garden will utilize various plant and building material colors, textures,
and types to form a figurative design for each planet of the solar
system. The Garden will open in Shenzhen on September 16, 2004 as
part of an international exposition. The U.S. site for the garden
is an ideal location on the edge of a large park near the center of
the city of Shenzhen. The city of Shenzhen will reciprocate by designing
and installing a garden as a gift to the city of Houston in two years.
